Internships now play a key role in labour policies, in the acquisition of university degrees and in recruitment programs. Millions of young people around the world work without pay, or for very little pay, to gain useful experience that might help them secure a good job. But what are the effects of internships on the labour market and workers’ rights? Are internships actually making work more precarious for everyone?
