The trade war unleashed by US president Trump has had devastating consequences for workers in Canada and around the world. Union leaders and researchers from the United Steelworkers, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the Miners’ Union (Los Mineros) and the Authentic Labour Front (Frente Autentico del Trabajo) of Mexico, will discuss the effects of Trump’s tariffs on Canadian manufacturing and the broader economy, ways to build a more resilient economy that prioritizes workers and their communities, and the role of international solidarity.
